Weekly Changelog: Tuesday, October 14

It is Tuesday, October 14. No changelog last week, as I was in Finland for PGC Helsinki, watching Neon on stage for the Webshop Wizardry track. Thanks to everyone who came out to see our team!

In the interim, we've celebrated National Spread Joy Day (October 11) and National Smile Day (October 3), as well as National Raccoon Day (October 1) and National Fruit at Work Day (October 7). Celebrate all four by giving a raccoon a grape during your lunch break.

First, the Neon team is growing! We welcomed Hailey Tran to the team on October 6. She's based in the SF office, and has asked me to let everyone know that she is obsessed with penguins.

We've continued our work on the latest design refresh of Neon Checkout, and are almost ready to go live! A full list of changes (and attributions) will come as soon as the project is released.

We're continuing to build out our in-house fraud capabilities:

  • Jinting moved our blocklist from our codebase to our online fraud model
  • Jinting added logic to automatically flag disputed transactions for manual review
  • Jinting added logic to block payments instead of checkouts to allow for blocking specific payment methods without blocking the entire checkout

We're refreshing our Checkout analytics exports:

  • Luis added a number of new fields and events to our analytics exports; our docs page will be updated shortly with updated schemas

And, as always, the et cetera section:

  • Hailey updated our Daily Streaks page to include a clearer CTA to return to the full storefront
  • Luis fixed a bug with the transaction report filter not working correctly for single-day selections
