About Neon Checkout
Neon offers several types of checkout integrations. The right one for you depends on your setup and where you want payments to happen.
Checkout is automatically included as part of Neon Shop. If you’re using Neon Shop, checkout comes out of the box, and checkout pages are generated and managed by Neon Shop. Additionally, you can use Neon checkout across other parts of your app, game, or website, extending your purchase flow beyond the Neon Shop.
In all cases, developers can take advantage of:
- Neon’s merchant-of-record capabilities. As the international merchant of record, Neon handles tax, compliance, currency management, and player support
- Neon’s global payment sheet, supporting players with their preferred payment methods worldwide
The initial setup for your checkout experience is managed through the Neon Console, and detailed in the next guide.

Checkout Integration Types
Neon offers the following checkout integrations:
Direct Checkout
Direct Checkout allows you to use checkout directly within your app or game (In-Game Payments). It is typically used for in-app purchase flows where you trigger checkout from your own UI.
Embedded Checkout
Embedded Checkout allows you to integrate checkout into your existing web store using a secure iframe. Neon provides a package to simplify this integration.
Hosted Checkout
Hosted Checkout allows you to generate a standalone checkout page hosted by Neon and redirect users to it for payment.
Serverless Checkout
Serverless Checkout allows you to create payments directly from the client without requiring a game server.
